Colorado HoneyBee Rescue, Hive and Swarm Removal

Gallery

Hello! Lets see if we can catch a swarm!

Colorado Honeybee Rescue has started a bait box program. Similar to a bird house program. Basically it is as simple as finding a good location in your yard or near your house that a small hive can be set up(CHR can do this for you). This hive would be empty and would be primed with bee hive smelling frames so that any swarms passing by checking out your house or neighbors house will instead find the box more suitable to their needs. Honeybees tend to move into places that bees have lived before hand. The bees can smell this and will check out the box and hopefully move in there instead of your walls or roof. CHR will check the hive periodically but it is asked that the home owner keep an eye on the hive and call if they notice that bees have moved in. The box will then be replaced with an empty one, or, the owner can learn to keep bees. A bait box can be set up for as little has a $50 deposit, with the potential of saving your house or neighbors thousands of dollars of damage, as well as saving the honeybees. Call today or stop into the store to sign up to get yours.
